Description
Karmela Bachman, PA-C, is an Advanced Practice Provider at Monument Health Plastic Surgery in Rapid City. Karmela has been with Monument Health for four years, spending three in Dermatology before transitioning to Plastic Surgery. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from University of South Dakota in Vermillion and attended undergrad at University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, from which she attained a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy with a minor in Chemistry. Karmela loves helping women regain confidence after procedures like panniculectomies and supporting breast cancer patients through reconstruction. She also enjoys the variety of hand surgery in which even small procedures like carpal tunnel release can be life changing. Outside of work, Karmela stays busy with her daughter, who loves cheer and gymnastics, and her two dogs — Dixie, a Yorkie, and Rowdy, a Shih Tzu. She enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, having recently ran her first half marathon with Dr. Schuth. Karmela is grateful to be a part of the Plastic Surgery team and looks forward to supporting patients through their surgical journeys.
